Canyoning to the Cocklin's

So we haven't had internet in a few days so I am just going to bring us all up to date from the last post.

After Piha beach, we woke up and all met at the bottom of the SkyTower in Auckland to get on our Canyoning tour. It was a day filled with sun, big creeks, jumps and dives and basically just plain ol' awesomeness. Our leader was a pretty rad ol' Kiwi who had some legit moves still. The waterproof camera was broken though, and there was no way I was taking mine there, so all the photos are mental images. But the day was really sweet, there were two guys from the UK and as well as couple from Australia, we basically just made fun of one another all day.

We left Auckland that night, after fixin our "flat battery" and made it on the road up to Orewa where we stayed at a campsite with all the fixins.

Tuesday we put on some km's and ended up stopping a few beaches and ended up at Sandy Bay, were we camped for free with a pretty awesome ocean view. We cooked some dogs over our fire on the beach and had a pretty solid evening just chilling.

Wednesday we had to go to Ngunuru to fix our flat tire, and then we headed down to Whanagrei to do some shopping, we grabbed some supplies and Trevor bought his first surf board. From there we drove north 10 mins and met up with Sam Cocklin, a guy I met this winter who moved to Smithers a few years ago. He had a farm up north aways so we followed him through the up and down, windy coastal road to his farm. From there his family welcomed us and we ate and drank like kings, its been 5 days but the wholesome home cooked meals are in short supply. So we were very grateful.

And now today, we drove up to Russel in the Bay of Islands, just for something to do. Tonight we plan on going out possum hunting at Sam's farm and from there, who knows.

PS. I will hopefully be able to update the blog and my Flickr account with photos once I work out a few issues. Thanks
